Our Story
Since 1997, Dr. Jekill & Mr. Hyde has been one of the leading premium exhaust manufacturers in Europe, known for building systems that give riders real control over their experience.
At the core of every exhaust is an adjustable valve that lets you switch between three sound modes at the push of a button, quiet, dynamic or full sound. Change your sound instantly depending on how and where you ride, with street legal configurations available where applicable.
Each system is engineered specifically for its motorcycle, combining German engineering with Dutch craftsmanship for precise fitment, durability and consistent performance. These are purpose built exhausts, not one size fits all solutions.
Every exhaust is tested to handle extreme heat and real world riding conditions before it reaches production. Each is built from high quality materials sourced from trusted European suppliers and backed by a 4 year warranty.

Jekill & Hyde USA
Jekill & Hyde USA, operated by Plamoto Inc., is the official Western distributor for Dr. Jekill & Mr. Hyde. We supply North America, South America, and the Caribbean.
Since 2022, we have been importing these systems and building the brand across the Americas. We have traveled the country attending major motorcycle events, meeting riders face to face, and growing a strong community around the product. At the same time, we have been focused on expanding our dealer network across our territory, working closely with partners to ensure proper representation and support at the local level.
We are a family owned and operated business with decades of experience in the motorcycle industry. That background shapes everything we do, from the products we stand behind to the way we support our customers. We focus on real relationships, honest guidance, and making sure every rider gets the right setup for their bike.

Our History
It Started At Assen
In 1995, on a visit to the TT at Assen, the idea was born. Riders with drag pipes were simply too loud riding in a group, so why not let the rider choose the sound? In 1997, Dr. Jekill & Mr. Hyde opened in Belfeld, the Netherlands, as a custom exhaust shop, with its first customers arriving on custom Harley-Davidsons and more.
European Type Approval in 2010 was the turning point that enabled legal exhaust manufacturing. The Smartbox and Indian Motorcycle followed in 2014, BMW Motorrad in 2017, and in 2019 the 150,000th electronically adjustable exhaust was delivered. Triumph joined in 2021, and by its 25th anniversary in 2022 the company had more than 80 people and offices in Germany, Switzerland, France and Canada.
The Name
A Strange Case
Our name is inspired by Robert Louis Stevenson's 1886 novel, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. It follows Dr. Henry Jekyll, a mild mannered doctor fascinated by the duality of human nature, whose experiments transform him into the darker Mr. Hyde.
The same idea lives in our exhausts, which offer two, or rather three, distinct personalities. With the push of a button, riders switch between modes for a dynamic and personal riding experience.
Unlike in the novel, the Mr. Hyde in our exhaust systems is easily tamed, by a simple touch of a button.

Quality Over Volume
"Loud pipes save lives" is one of the oldest sayings in motorcycling, and too often it becomes an excuse for an exhaust that simply hurts your ears. Still, there is some truth in it. The people behind Dr. Jekill & Mr. Hyde® are riders themselves, and every rider knows how easily a motorcycle goes unnoticed by cars and trucks.
That is why the focus has never been on how loud an exhaust can get, but on how good it sounds. A lot of time goes into designing the sound of every system, so other road users know you are there while the tone stays rich and enjoyable, never harsh or tiring. Will they hear you? Definitely. Will it hurt your ears? No.
Or, as the team in the Netherlands puts it, great sounding pipes save lives.
