The R1300 R and R1300 RS take the 1300cc boxer out of adventure duty and put it into a roadster and a sport tourer. The Dr. Jekill & Mr. Hyde exhaust is engineered for both, an electronically adjustable system with three selectable sound modes, available in street-legal configurations where applicable.
Our sound engineers used the character of the boxer as the guideline for every mode. Keep it quiet and civil for a commute or a run through town, add weight and presence in the middle setting, then open it fully and let the 1300 pull hard with a voice that matches.

The Valve
With the valve closed, Dr. Jekill mode keeps the R1300 quiet and composed. Right for an early departure, a daily commute, or a long highway stretch where you would rather have the miles than the noise. It stays out of your way until you want it back.
Control At Your Fingertips
A compact button on the handlebar controls the valve inside the exhaust. One push opens and closes it, and a double tap sets it to the half open position, so you can move through all three sound modes without taking your hands off the bars.
Make It Yours
The system comes with the factory plastic heat shield, located where the muffler meets the header. If you want a more finished look, add the optional carbon fiber heat shield, made to match the carbon end cap on the muffler.

No tune is required on a stock bike. BMW motorcycles run a sophisticated ECU with closed loop fueling, and the O2 sensors read the change in airflow through the new exhaust. The ECU adjusts fuel delivery automatically to match, so the bike adapts on its own.
