Electronically Adjustable Exhaust Systems For Indian Baggers
Indian's baggers are built to be seen and heard, the Chieftain, the Springfield and the Challenger, saddlebags loaded and ready for the long way home. Dr. Jekill & Mr. Hyde builds electronically adjustable exhaust systems for them, with selectable sound modes controlled from the handlebar, available in street-legal configurations where applicable.
One exhaust, up to three personalities. In Dr. Jekill mode the valve stays closed for a refined, discreet note, ideal for early mornings, residential streets and long hauls. Dynamic mode opens the valve halfway for a deeper, resonant growl. Mr. Hyde mode opens it fully and lets the V-twin speak with everything it has. You choose per situation, at the press of a button.
The same core system carries across the bagger lineup, tuned to sit right on the bike rather than read as an accessory bolted on. You choose the body finish and end cap in the configurator, so the exhaust looks like part of the Chieftain, Springfield or Challenger it lives on, not a part added to it.
Dr. Jekill & Mr. Hyde electronic valve technology lets you adjust the sound on the fly. One premium exhaust system, multiple distinct personalities, full control from the handlebar. Backed by a 4 year warranty.

The Three Sound Modes

Configure Your ExhaustWhy Sound Control Matters
All The Sound You Want, Only When You Want It
A loud exhaust is great right up until it is not. Dr. Jekill & Mr. Hyde gives your bagger a deep, bass rich voice when you want to be heard, and a civil one when you do not, and lets you switch between them from the handlebar without stopping.
Keep Your Neighbors
Leave at five in the morning or roll in after midnight without announcing it to the whole street.
Ride Two Up
Your passenger sits right in the sound path. Dial it back and a long ride together stays a pleasure.
Read The Room
Parking lots, campgrounds, downtown at noon. Some places call for presence, some call for restraint.
Let It Out
Then you find the road you came for, press the button, and the bagger opens up the way it always should have.
Indian Bagger FAQ
Still Have Questions?
The answers riders ask most often about Dr. Jekill & Mr. Hyde adjustable exhaust systems for Indian baggers.
The muffler is the same across the bagger lineup. What changes is the electronics, matched to your bike's engine and electrical system. The air cooled Thunderstroke bikes, like the Chieftain, Chieftain Classic, Chieftain Dark Horse and Springfield, take one control setup. The liquid cooled PowerPlus bikes, like the Challenger and Chieftain PowerPlus, take another.
Confirm your exact model, year and engine in the configurator before you order, and if you are not certain, send us a message and we will confirm it with you.
On supported stock configurations, no tune, fuel tuner, or ECU flash is required. The system is developed around the factory setup of the motorcycle.
Already running other performance parts, like an intake or a fueling mod? Check with your mechanic or shop first, or reach out to us and we will help steer you the right way.
Yes. The valve position can be changed at any moment, and you can ride in whichever sound mode is available on your bike.
How many modes you get depends on the electronics. Bikes with a CAN bus connection give you three modes, Dr. Jekill, Dynamic, and Mr. Hyde, all from the handlebar control. Bikes without CAN bus run a blackbox setup with two modes, quiet and open. Either way, you switch on the fly without stopping.
Our bagger systems are electronically adjustable exhausts available in street-legal configurations where applicable and engineered to work with the motorcycle's stock setup.
Local rules on street legality vary by where you live and ride, so it is worth checking the requirements in your area. Not sure? Get in touch before you order and we will help point you the right way.
Every system is fully plug and play. No cutting wires, no splicing. Follow along with the printed instructions in the box or the installation video, so you always have two guides side by side.
For a capable mechanic it is a straightforward job. The exact time depends on your tools, your experience, and the condition of the bike.

Every system is developed for a specific motorcycle and built with advanced parts, including an electronically controlled valve that delivers multiple sound modes at the press of a button.
That adjustable control gives you what a permanently loud pipe never can: flexibility. Slip quietly through neighborhoods and noise sensitive zones, sidestep costly noise citations, and stay on good terms with the neighbors. Then, when the road opens up, switch to a deeper, more aggressive tone at the push of a button.
This is more than a muffler or another exhaust. You are investing in premium engineering, advanced technology, model specific development, real everyday flexibility, and a 4 year warranty.
